What is a Facebook UID?

A Facebook UID is the numeric ID of a profile or page. Many ad, analytics and automation tools ask for it instead of the vanity URL.

The lookup works for public profiles and pages. Private, deleted or restricted accounts may not return a result.

Resolve Facebook UIDs from code

Use the same lookup as an endpoint when you need to convert many URLs automatically. The API costs 0.5 credit (about $0.0005) per request.

Frequently asked questions

Can I find the ID of a private profile?

No. Only public data is available. Private, deleted or restricted accounts may fail.

What can I paste?

A profile or page URL, or just the username. A username is turned into a facebook.com address.

Is the UID permanent?

The numeric ID normally stays the same even if the username changes.

Can I look up many accounts?

Use the Facebook API to automate lookups. The free tool handles one URL at a time.
