What does an email validator check?
It checks that the address is well formed, that its domain has MX records so it can receive mail, and whether the domain is known as a disposable email provider.
These checks reduce typos and throwaway signups, but they do not prove that a specific mailbox exists. Missing evidence is shown as unavailable, not as a pass.
Validate emails from your signup form
Call the same check from code to block bad addresses at signup, or send lists in batches and jobs. The API costs 1 credit (about $0.001) per request.
Frequently asked questions
Does a valid result mean the email will be delivered?
No. Valid syntax and MX records do not prove that the mailbox exists or that delivery will succeed.
What is a disposable email?
It is an address from a service that gives out short-lived inboxes. Many sites block them at signup.
Do you send an email to the address?
No. The check looks up the domain and does not send a message to the address.
Can I check many addresses at once?
Use the Email Validation API for batch calls and jobs. The free tool checks one address at a time.
